The Christian Renewal Center has been owned and operated by a missionary order of priests and brothers, "Oblates of Mary Immaculate" (OMI) since 1967. In 2008, in a reconcentration of their efforts and mission, the OMI sought an organization that could carry on their own mission of evangelization in the Houston area. Working together with a cooperative group of men and women from area churches, CRC Partners Inc. was formed, and with a commitment to carry on the mission of the OMI, took over operation and management of the facility with the goal to purchase the CRC in the near future. The CRC was first opened in 1967 as Christian Holiday House. The facilities were expanded to accommodate larger groups and in 1989 the name was changed to Christian Renewal Center. The original owners of the facility, the OMI, a worldwide congregation of priests and brothers were founded in post revolutionary France by St. Eugene de Mazenod and dedicated to evangelizing through retreat ministry, Christ and His kingdom in this time and in this place. ![]() The CRC was opened in 1967 as Christian Holiday House.
